three little cameras birthday giveaway!

Three little cameras are celebrating their first birthday on Monday! I'm so excited and I can't believe that it's been a year since I started this blog.

Actually I started it on a whim, I had no idea what to post but I thought it would be fun to have one. I didn't even know how to name it, so as I was thinking of a name I noticed three Lomo cameras on my desk and I thought three little cameras would be a good name for a blog.
At first I started to post bits of my old art/photography project made in 2007. but after a while I realized I would like to start drawing again, after a four year hiatus and having this blog helped to focus on my doodles again.

I would like to thank you for all of your visits and comments and kind words, I appreciate them more than you can imagine!

So, in the spirit of celebration I decided to give away two pairs of my prints ( 8x10 inches each) and if you'd like to receive two prints from me just leave any comment on this post in next 72 hours and I'll pick (totally randomly) two comments and send you a pair of my prints (and a little original drawing to go with them, but shhhhhh, that's a surprise :))

A thousand years ago, a legendary dragon went into his underground cave to take a nap and he's still peacefully asleep, unaware that there is an entire village built above his home.

Although this monster's job is to stand on top of a tall building and scare airplanes and helicopters by threatening to eat them, he is actually quite friendly.
In his spare time he likes to hang out with his other fairy-tale friends , such as this talking chair (who will bite you ass if you sit on it, by the way ) and drink herbal tea.

Also, his favorite hobby is designing t-shirts and he dreams of having his own, successful clothing line one day.

I made this earlier this week but it somehow seemed to me like an intricate design so I decided to post it for this week's topic on Illustration Friday.

My doodle making process, step by step

Since a lot of people asked me how I make my doodles I decided to show it step by step on this simple drawing of a whimsical road and houses.

First I make a sketch using black ink pen and then scan it into Photoshop:After that I color it using Paint Bucket Tool:
Then I add some textures as layers. Here, I added these two textures (download them here and here):



I used multiply blending option on the first texture and the difference blending option on the second texture. The result turned out like this:



And this is basically it, my doodle making process, quite simple isn't it? :-)
