Blogging break until March 21st

Hello everyone! I'm taking a three weeks long blogging break, until March 21st. I need to focus on my work and on finishing my 365 photo project. I'll be back after March 21st with new posts and print giveaway to celebrate second birthday of three little cameras (that takes place on March 30th) and continue to blog regularly.

Until first day of Spring I'm leaving you with few random illustrations:

P.S: if you start missing me , I can still be found on flickr everyday :)

Project 365- eleven months!

Exactly eleven months ago I started a 365 project, shooting a picture a day. I wanted to find my own style, my photographic niche , so to speak, and I allowed myself freedom to shoot any type of pictures I want to, to see what kind of style attracts me the most. This entire 365 journey turned out to be a big learning experience for me and still is and I'm looking forward to the last month of my photo-adventure!
But for now, here are some of my 365 favorites from the previous four weeks:

Day 314/365 : an apple a day

Thinking of Spring (and making origami flowers)

I don't know about you, but I'm becoming tired of Winter, I feel like I've had my share of snow, rain, snow and rain at the same time, mud, cold, boots and coats and now I'm totally ready for Spring!
But since Spring still haven't decided to show up, at least not here in Croatia, I got crafty and made myself a bouquet of colorful flowers.

First I made five kusudama flowers:
kusadama
You can find instructions how to make them here. Then I used some wire and buttons to make them stand in a vase, I just pulled wire through buttons and then through middle of a flower and I got a fun looking bouquet.

Thinking of Spring

On this flower I used beads instead of button and added two extra petals:

I'm kind of hoping that looking at my newly created flower bouquet will stir up some magic and make me finish this flower painting that I started last year:

And to end my flower related post here is one big, drawn flower:

Have a happy Friday everyone!

Sweet dreams

I wanted to write/illustrate a short story about Wolf's dream, just for practice but it turned out kind of crazy, so at first I hesitated to post it but eventually gave in :D
So, continue reading if you'd like a little dose of craziness on Tuesday afternoon...

sweet dreams
During his afternoon nap Wolf had a very pleasant dream that he was fishing on a lake.

wolf caught a cake
But instead of fish , Wolf caught a big cake. Even better, he thought.

floating on chocolate
Before he got to eat the cake, his boat turned into a big polka dot cup, lake turned into hot chocolate and the cake became alive. It started telling Wolf how it's bad to eat too much sweets and sugar. Wolf was confused.

wolf unicorn cupcakes
Luckily he was rescued from a preaching cake by a pink unicorn followed by a flock of flying cupcakes.

wolf jumps in
While riding a unicorn Wolf saw a huge cake and decided to dive right into it and eat his way out.

wolf awake
But before he got a chance to taste the gigantic cake, Wolf suddenly woke up slightly disappointed. And hungry.

Love is in the air

Love is in the air
A case of pretty annoying cold is been keeping me in bed for the last two days and it's preventing me from doing any "serious" work that actually requires focus and concentration.
However, cold isn't preventing me from making fun, effortless doodles like this one :)

UPDATE:
"Love is in the air" has been featured on the creative JAR.

Return of the Octopus (and other animals visiting Zagreb)

return of the Octopus
Remember the Octopus? Well, he's back, bigger and stronger than before! He went to the main train station in Zagreb to catch a train. He got on one of the trains but it didn't move, and soon Octopus became very confused, why aren't we moving, he thought. Octopus had no idea he sat on an old engine that is used merely as a decoration.

wolf having fun
While Octopus was waiting for train to start moving, Fox and Wolf were hanging out with (sculpture of) A.G. Matoš, Croatian poet, on Upper Town in Zagreb. Wolf was doing what he likes best, vandalize public property, express himself artistically.

dino goes for a walk
Dino went for a walk and visited Croatian National Theater. Surprisingly, nobody noticed him and two girls almost tripped over his tail.

nest
Bird decided she will not go unnoticed, so she built a nest on top of the Cibona tower. The view is great from there.

Bird sighting

bird sighting
When talking a morning stroll through his garden Cat spotted a group of interesting little birds lounging on a tree. They looked so chubby, and delicious, mmmmm, and colorful like candy but Cat was too lazy to do anything, so he just walked on by.

But, Cat isn't the only one who saw little birds, I was surprised when some of them visited my home and found a cozy spot on branches in my vase:

I tried to strike a conversation with one of the feathery creatures and asked why have they suddenly decided to invade my world but the birdie just ignored me.

However a part of the flock did cooperate with me and helped me create these cards:

All in all, it was a lovely visit.

Today was a beautiful day

Today was such a beautiful day, warm and sunny, but I didn't have free time to go outside and enjoy it so I did a little impromptu photo shoot on my desk to celebrate this beautiful day.
